Thread memory?

Does the thread memory function work for anyone else? It worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago. About 95% of the time, this icon

will show up next to threads even after I've read them. I have to click on "Mark all topics read" to make them go away. It's not super important for it to work, but it can sometimes be a pain in the butt

When I log in I use the link to read posts since last log in and then go through them. The icon usually disappears as I go through them, and it is always gone the next time I log in. so no problem here.
