Hey, I'm trying to get my act together, and that includes getting back to the No-S habit. I keep falling off the wagon in times of chaos and disorder, which is not big surprise, but it is a big concern, for the reasons mentioned in the book.

Welcome back! I know it's hard to stay on track when chaos hits, but it you get the right habits solidified no-S will actually serve you in times of chaos rather than serve as "one more thing to worry about/feel bad about." At least, that's what the experienced no-essers tell me; I'm still working on doing the right thing when stressed myself. Good luck to you!

I do well on No S, and I find it liveable, and it deals with my excesses pretty well. What's not to like?

Good for you! There's a point with this thing where inertia sort of kicks in, as the rules really become established as a habit. 21 days of vanilla No S will get you there.

Vanilla no-S is "No snacks, no sweets, no seconds, except (sometimes) on days that start with S".

In other words the No-S diets with no tweaks or mods of any kind.

Storm, it's great to see you here again.

Stress is tough. But I think at some point if you keep bounching back something clicks and your habits become (more or less) stress proof.

The thing I find very helpful to keep in mind almost as a sort of mantra is that no s (and the other everyday systems) actually HELP with stress by providing an island of sanity and stability in a sea of chaos swirling all around you. It may seem harder to keep these habits up, but it's actually easier.
