Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.
Hi,
Going on my second day…. day one was success yea…had a little breakfast of oats and cup of coffee, lunch was a turkey sandwich light mayo all veggies and tea, dinner was a bowl of Chile and one piece of corn bread…was hard not to get seconds but waited a little bit and then drank a glass of water and was fine…
Today so far doing good… breakfast was cheerios cup of coffee and lunch was salad w chic and low fat dressing feeling good.
So glad I found this site was ready to start eating better but like every one else have tried dieting I’d loose but gain back …I know cutting back on soda is really my big thing as I crave cherry coke sometimes and sweets at night, besides that I eat pretty good food both my husband and I were chefs at one time so we defiantly love food…so good luck to everyone!!! next I need to get moving with more exercise, just bought a pair of out side roller skates haven’t tried this since the 80’s wish me luck…..Kymm

Well the fair is here in town and I could not resist. It was the pecan roll or the funnel cake, the pecan roll won… I always treat my self to either when we go, I could not break the tradition Ha Ha, and then was the chips with chili and cheese…ummm so gooey and yummy…. so I will put it in as a failure day but I really don’t mind, it was well worth it and we had a great time.

Ok I have been to busy to check in and log what I have been eating, but I have been doing great and got back on track after the fair night, and it is paying off... I went clothes shopping with my daughter and while trying on clothes could tell I have lost a little, I don’t own a scale so I just go by how my clothes fit and this dress was something I know would have not fit 2 months ago so I feel really proud of my self
I will check in again but will probably not keep a track of foods I have been eating daily just to busy right now.. I basically eat what I like but still go by the rules ..
Now the free days I don’t really feel the need to over eat or have a million cans of soda like before and I feel great ...even the sweet tooth has subsided ...I can wait until my off days to eat sweets with no problem now and still not over do it ...cant wait to wear my new dress yeah !!! ttyl
