Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.
A great start, a green Monday!
27 minute walks and 30 lengths swimming!
Feeling positive and excited about forming new habits.
Husband happy too, he's going to read the book.
Support is good.
Hope everyone has a great week.

We have done another green day and another 27 minute walk.
We even went to a garden centre for lunch which is usually a caloric disaster..not today!
We had a bowl of soup, bread and a coffee, no sweet and we were pleasantly smug.
It's liberating not to be having this inner battle trying to fool myself that I can pull back on the sweet 'treat'- which is not a treat at all when you go on to eat more sweet junk for a mid afternoon snack!
Thank you auto, hope I can crack this 3 week span.

Really pleased, we both had long meetings after school and lots of 'S' around in the form of chocolate and cookies, I had no desire to snack on something, my hubby also resisted in his staff room.
So far... It's BRILLIANT!
I didn't eat tea until after 7:30pm and din't feel overly hungry.
It's been a difficult day and I've been quite emotional, but I didn't comfort eat, because there is actually no comfort in doing so!
Shabbat Shalom x
I've not eaten small meals, not struggled or stumbled. Can I really have some sweet stuff tomorrow? I didn't have anything sweet last Sunday, the day I started, I didn't snack or have seconds either so I've done six days in all.
Can't possibly imagine I've lost weight yet....
both S days were yellow. We know we had too much to eat, too much chocolate. Pleased to be on Monday! Think next weekend will be more sensible.

Another good day,. however our tea was delayed because of some old friends popping in and my husband was feeling a bit light headed, he's earned that he didn't eat enough lunch today!
Hope the hard copy of the book arrives soon for him to read as he won't read on kindle!
thank you. I've weighed today, lost 3lbs in total. I'm very pleased. Enjoyed the N day so far, nothing over the top but enjoyed a yummy chunk of carrot cake!
Xxx
Shabbat Shalom everyone!
I've joined the February Challenge over in General... thought I'd just update here for this week so far...
February 2019 Fri 2/1: GREEN Sat 2/2 & Sun 2/3: S Days Mon 2/4: GREEN Tues 2/5: GREEN Wed 2/6: GREEN Thurs 2/7: GREEN Fri 2/8: GREEN
My husband is sticking to it too, he's very satisfied that each night on the kitchen calendar we write out initials on in green! He said one of the cleaners at his school has also started No S and has lost quite a lot in a couple of weeks now! I'm scheduled to weigh in tomorrow but I've been a bit constipated this week so I might just take a rain check this week, more important to monitor the habits. x
