I think the last post is fishy. Too general for true mods?

I'm not sure what happened here--loisemichel23 quoted me in this post:

https://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopi ... 492#181492

and the quote includes spam that wasn't in my initial post. The word "weight" was replaced with a link and the words "pruvit keto supplements australia."

Thanks ironchef, Merry!

I was a little surgical about these because there was some evidence that they might be real human beings linking out to sites they actually like...

I removed the spam link on Alaina's post, and blew out one of meal5's links that seemed off topic and left the other for now...

I'll keep my eye on them...

Thanks for the reports and please keep them coming!

I can assure you I'm real. For one, I've posted genuine topics and replies, to which you've responded and given good advice on. Two, I've reported other spam here.

But hey, I'll go if it makes everyone else more comfortable. Hate to be a third wheel when I'm trying to seek help

Hi all,

Thanks for the reports and sorry for the delay -- distracted by pre-vacation work stress and now vacation itself.

I think I've obliterated the guilty and spared the innocent.

Please keep the reports coming! I do check before I delete, and without this mechanism these boards would be overrun with spam.

It was. There's only two types of people in the world like they say: the ones that go to surgery and the ones who use outside box sources. This link https://porevacuumcleaners.com/collecti ... -extractor will give you some information about an extractor that I usually use. Good luck

It was for vacuum cleaners and I'm assuming it's not the liposuction kind, which would also be SPAM.

Got that last one as well -- thanks Jx.

It looks like the same spambot that did the last batches of 50+ under different usernames. I doubt we've seen the last of this one. Next time it strikes (and I'm guessing we won't have to wait long), I'm going to observe a little more careful observation before deleting and see if I can detect any patterns against which to direct pre-emptive countermeasures.

Weekend Luddite is only ~9-5 on weekends, so though I've been less than perfect in my observation of it (darn phones make it so much harder than it used to be), my anti-spam efforts last night were technically OK on that score. :-)

Do they do this just for fun or is there something they're looking for? Tx

Whew. I am knee-deep in the blood of spambots. I feel like Odysseus after having dispatched the suitors.

Thank you all!

P.S. anyone interested in being in being deputized with spam destroying powers? I've been hesitant to consider this, but it may be time...

I don't mind deleting spam posts or if you can set to moderate first posts I'll let the legit ones through and delete spam.
