Hi Hi TheCatInTheBag!!
I'm a complete newbie to NoS - only doing it for about 6 weeks now. I'm SOLD, and love every minute of it. I'm so proud of myself too - passing up on sweets (by the bulk around me unfortunately) - regularly. I can do this, I'm sure you can too!!!

Hi jackn - the world is slowly waking up to these facts.

Urgh... I'm getting pretty blue about the no sweets thing.
OH goodness, I TOTALLY understand. I come from a long line of excellent home cooks, bakers, and family show-offs at get-togethers. The bounty of food in general, and sweets in specific has been a big thing throughout my life. My mom used ...

Yep, that was the take-away for me too. I am also apparently susceptible to the whole "oh ghads I've failed" thought process... and everything crumbles.
I'm going to do some brainstorming, have some quick small meal fixes available for these scenarios. The first one that comes to mind is a quick ...

What to do about Unbelievable Hunger!?
Well today sucked. I usually can manage hunger between meals, but for whatever reason - I couldn't today.
Lunch was 11:30, I learned later that Dinner wasn't going to happen until around 7 (commute from hades, among other reasons.)
I started climbing the walls around 3, and at 4:30 gave in ...

Yea, Holocene, I struggled with that too... especially when the diet I'm on actually prescribes it. Donut Fridays....? Ugh!
While strictly dieting (before No S), I would have to walk around the perimeter of my building (no jokes about exercise please, I'm grumbling all the way)... to avoid the Friday donut buffet of sweets.

So - I have encountered some fun challenges so far, I'm not quite a newbie...and consider myself almost PRE-Phase 1 (the 'stumbling over my own two left feet' phase while I'm figuring this all out) but your post helps me understand what to expect.

Perhaps that's what the book meant about 'balancing out' your habits. You begin to see some carryover.

What an awesome question...
My father once told me that he was concerned that I wasn't eating enough starch. (I'm over 100lbs overweight).
KEEP it up - don't make a bid deal out of it. You're successful - and that's all that matters.
Through other draconian means, I have lost 50 lbs - Usually I say when asked "Ohhh I just ...

3 Meals even on S days....???
Am curious - do most of you stick to 3 meals even on S days (even though you could eat anything you wanted)... ? It's kind of weird that I'm gravitating towards that, but not sure if that's part of the obsessive diet thought process I've cultivated for over 30 years. (Amazing, the need for rules ...

HI - Oolala53 - I'm curious, have you had to deal with emotional eating?

It took me a while to calm down, and not be frantic about it. Still puzzling on the source of that.

Batch cooking, and homemade frozen dinners
I have NO...repeat...NO time during the week to cook. That being said, I often have small amounts of time over the weekend.

Serial Dieting brought me here...
I'll be honest, it was a search for a new diet methodology. After 20 years of a wide variety of diets that were supposed to take off the 120 lbs I've been toting around, I still was looking for the right one for me.

Bullet Journal System...
HI Folks
I've been a huge fan of the bullet journal - and am using it as my daily check in - with my own red/yellow/green calendar. Somehow manually coloring something has some kind of general fulfilling feeling about it.
If you're curious about organizational/tracking tools, check it out ...
