Day 3 was a FAILURE in the end - bit annoyed to slip up this early in the game, but the fish cakes were not very nice so i was still hungry and that Friday afternoon feeling got to me and I ended up eating toast and crisps... :x

Day 4 + 5 were S days and predictably overindulgent - had fast food ...

ok so it might be an idea to keep a food diary for a bit.

Here's my diary for the 1st 3 days of No S.

Day 1
Breakfast: Scrambled egg on 2 wholewheat toast
Lunch: Cous cous, veg, banana, yoghurt
Dinner: home made lean burger and home made oven chips

Day 2
Breakfast: Scrambled egg on 2 wholewheat ...

hi

I am a newbie to the no S diet, but not to dieting in general!!

I just wanted to say be careful weighing yourself every day, the littlest thing can impact your weight on a day to day basis, like water retention, salty food, etc.

I find it quite disheartening to weigh myself every day so I ...

Day 2

Day 2 was a SUCCESS!

Had a cuppa at about 4pm but never have sugar, just a splash of milk, so I think it's a drink not a snack.

Had a low fat/low cal turkey curry for dinner (home made, but bought the sauce in a jar) added lots of veg and then had 2 home made mini samosas on a seperate plate but ...

Betty's check in

Hello! I'm Betty, aged 25 from the UK. Trying to lose a stone and a half in 2011!

Well today is Thursday and I spent all of Tuesday reading about the No S diet (and getting very enthusiastic about it - an epiphany! it's so simple!!)

Then I spent all of Wednesday trying to stick to it 100% so ...

ah well i'm an old school UKer (depsite only being 25!) I use stones, pounds, ounces, feet and inches! (and pints! hehe!)

But I guess I just got that from my mother, despite what they tried to teach me in school I am still rubbish at understanding kilograms!!

I'm currently 11 stone. Only 5ft 3 ...

Thanks nicest and kevin.

I know what you mean, nicest, I need to stop and -ing with actual separate foods, but I also agree with kevin that variety is important.

A bad and example is to have couscous, and a yoghurt, and a banana, and an orange, and a sandwich, and some chips
That's too many food ...

I completely agree. Whether i'm bored, sad, happy, procrastinating, stressed, lonely, upset, my natural response is to eat!

this site is very helpful - when I feel that feeling (not hunger, but a longing to graze or snack) I come on here and look at some of the discussions and success stories.

I think its best to take out and assemble everything you plan to eat *before* you eat it - at least when you are first starting out. Or at least say to yourself "I'm going to eat a yogurt, half plate of cous cous and a banana" instead of eating the half plate of cous cous, deciding your still ...

thanks SpiritSong and Nicest of the Damned

Very useful advice! A virtual plate is a very good idea. And I will try to assemble all the food I plan to eat for a meal on one plate so I can see if it's ok.

I have also recently invested in some 'normal' sized dinner plates as the fancy ones I bought ...

newbie with a question about snacks

Hi all

I am a newbie - just seeking some clarification on the 'no snacking' role.

I snack a lot - I graze all day and I want to stop! So I am just eating brekie, lunch and dinner. nothing in between.

However, does having 1 thing and then something else for lunch count as No S or not??

for ...

newbie

Hi all,

I'm betty, from the UK. I just wanted to say that I found the no S diet last night and spent most of the evening engrossed in the website! It makes so much sense!

However embarrassing it might be to admit it, it's common sense! and I am a fool for ever thinking a good diet should be ...
