Thank you, all, for the welcome back. I love the community here.
Ladybird, I agree, it's almost like my body "wakes up" at night and then I cannot wind down--the food not helping.
I have been experimenting with eating earlier, even a little earlier and it's been helping.
Also, my kids started school ...

10 years later and checking in...;)
Hello, it's been 10 years since I did NO-S. I even went back to my old posts and realized that the last time I checked in, I had found out I was pregnant with my 4th boy, lived in Seattle, etc.
Since then, we moved to Nashville and then SLC. And I have a 5 year old GIRL, too. That boy is now 9. Wow ...

I'm back to No-S..
Found myself bingeing on tons of food again nearly every night.
It hasn't totally affected my weight yet because I restrict and/or exercise the remainder of the time. But I know it's not good for me and occupying too much real estate in my brain.

Hi!
Here to check in for accountability! I've been in and out of No-S over the years and it really resonates with me to continue with it, with a mod of eating any TYPE of food, in a meal, 3x/day, without S-days. I don't do well snacking and nibbling, so plated food, even if it includes a treat, is ...

I REALLY like the idea of 4 treats/week. That would help me not to see it as an event to "get all the treats in" like I do on S days. But, instead, I'd have a solitary treat scattered throughout the week. I love it!

I’m back to No-S after a few years of bingeing, calorie counting, dieting, over-exercising, intermittent fasting, and then some more bingeing. The most sane I’ve ever been is on No-S a few years ago. It took the emotional aspect out of food for me, and I need that now.

What a wise post, oolala.
You're right about noting that problems arise when we are alone: "you are only as sick as your secrets!".
And yes, quite ironic that I'm pretty confident here with family but worry about going home. I think that worry is more stemming from not only food but associated with ...

That's interesting what you say about the desire for treats getting less and less.
Tonight I ate dinner out with my parents, kids, sister. We all shared ONE dessert.

The holiday went surprisingly well considering I was surrounded by food for the last two days and a lot of it. There are eight kids in my family, all married, 30 grandkids and my parents all up at two cabins for 2 days. SOO fun and action packed and loud and crazy and awesome.
But ya, it was meal ...

I admire you setting specific goals and setting time-lines for them! That's a great idea.
I do agree about the not thinking about food/diet/weight is a great idea and to not let it become another obsession. I feel so great right now. I'm eating 3 meals, enjoying treats in moderation (not everyday ...

Hi, Sinnie. I'm so sorry about last night. We've all been there and at that moment you are just so in the "what the heck" syndrome that you don't even THINK about the after-affect in the morning. So you had had dinner at Ikea, felt hungry and had some fruit......binge.

Have a great visit to NYC! Jealous. I know how it is to be cabin fever! WE are leaving for a month (just me and the kids) to Utah tomorrow. I can't wait to get outta the rain and dark! I may be regretting saying that when I'm roasting, but it's summer and doesn't feel like it!

Seattle IS wonderful and gorgeous and temperate! We love the greenery. But man I have to be honest I'm begging to feel just a little bit warm/hot right now! I know it'll take a bit to adjust to the hot UT temps. The light constant drizzle and temps between 50-70 is nice, but doesn't feel like summer ...

Seattle to SLC baby!
Yes, it's a long-stretch. But by the time you think of staying over-night somewhere, the kids have usually fallen asleep, so it's more the adults who have to gear-up and keep going...

I baked cookies today. Chocolate chip and my best recipe.
Didn't eat the dough at all. Was making them for an event.
But a physical overpowering sensation took over when I was moving them from the pan to the cooling rack. Soft milk chocolate with crisp buttery dough. Oh my. I had just had lunch so ...

MJ: How did you lose those 25 pounds? Moderation?
Sinne: Glad to hear from you! Ya I may not be bingeing, but I HAVE been having a nightly treat. Probably in the arena of about 500 calories, not moderate by any means. I've been at that "eat 3 healthy meals all day and look forward to a treat" stage ...

Glad you're feeling a bit better, Amy. Thank heavens for antibiotics!
Good for you getting back into exercise.
I know it's hard especially with the kids home for summer in not caving to treats/snacks that they are having. I know I'm not completely "vanilla" but counting my success if I don't binge ...

You DO deserve better.
If the "fail" happens, give it a "shoulder shrug" and move on.
I've been doing pretty well lately. Not completely vanilla, though that works for most, but I'm allowing a sweet here and there and doing all I can to stay completely NEUTRAL. Just like, "well that was nice, moving ...
