My advice is, don't beat up on yourself. Relax. Have another go at it when you feel up for it. And know this ---- it WILL get easier! These good eating habits will become effortless, eventually. It took me a very long time to get it down and I am still kind of a work in progress. But it is getting ...

I think it sounds like a sensible plan. Your taste buds will eventually adjust to fewer sweets and, in time, you probably won't even want the little dessert after supper.

James Bond's daily check-in
I'm re-reading some of the old James Bond novels by Ian Fleming. Here is what James might eat in a typical day.
Breakfast:
One boiled egg, two thick slices of whole-wheat toast with butter and jam. 2 cups of black coffee.
Lunch: (at a restaurant)
Grilled sole, a large mixed salad with dressing ...

I was a child during the 60's. My mother was quite strict about our eating habits. We almost never snacked. If we were starving, she'd let us nibble on a teaspoon of peanut butter. We never took seconds of anything. That wasn't a rule, just was a habit, somehow. After supper we could have a cookie ...

I'd like to recommend this book, "Born Round" by Frank Bruni. He fought a life-long battle with his weight. Finally won it. Then was made the New York Times restaurant critic. I found it both entertaining and helpful.
