Re: Tex Ark Check In
It's been awhile so time to check in. All is good. Weight has stayed stable and no bump up during the holidays. I am happy and healthy eating very low carb, usually 2 meals a day. I have been sugar and grain free since Sept. 28, 2017 and that has freed up so much brain space. No decisions to be made ...

I am impressed with your use of CGM. It really does give some helpful information because we do have individual differences. I am getting tired of sticking myself, but I think I have found out what I need to know about certain foods. I still have some body fat so I need to be careful about adding ...

I have noticed that some days your fasting blood glucose is under 100. I never can get mine there (as I mentioned to you before, I am sure it is dawn phenomenon), but I do stay stable around 100 all day. I also recently had my Hemoglobin A1C checked and I am at 5.2. But like you, if I eat half a ...

Just dropping by since it has been a couple of months. My weight is staying the same give or take a couple of pounds so I am happy in maintenance. Thanks auto. I will look into it. I have to be very careful about anything that I take because of the autoimmune liver problem. Liver specialists seem to be divided on this. Goal Weight
So I have been at maintenance stage for awhile. And I am still losing slowly.
My questions are:
If you are at maintenance, did you pick a goal weight or did it pick you?
Have you decided on a goal weight? If so, how?
Do you really not pay attention to the "number"? What about clothes size?
What ...

I feel your pain, Linda. Don't tell me what is not hard! However, I think what he is saying is that the last 10 pounds are SLOW. He stresses that we humans are only going to allow ourselves to suffer for just so long. Therefore, if we are overexercising, over-restricting, over-obsessing to get those ...

Yep! I weigh every morning. I use the Hacker's Diet site, not the book, but the computer online tool (www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/) and keep a rolling average and trend. I have records going back many years. The only time I gain is when I quit weighing. Yes it is denial. I can even see the trend. I ...

Still maintaining but seem to have dropped more lbs. Now weighing about 155.5 so feel sure my set point has now been lowered. Interesting how all that works. I stayed at 160 for months and months and then started losing again and then stayed at 158 for awhile. My eating is the same, I think. I have ...

My advice for what it is worth (I am now 71 and for 50+ years I have battled weight and body image):
Work on stabilizing where you are and consider that a victory. Your bmi is really in the normal range, right? I would say to you to get comfortable where you are and hold a steady weight for awhile ...

August Update
Still truckin' along. After two months of no weight shift, I seem to have moved down a pound. At least I have stayed under 160 for 5 days and the trend is showing that also. My goal is really just to stabilize at 158 which will be just fine for me. I have eliminated sugar since last September for a ...

Haven't checked in this week because of some family as well as vehicle issues, but weight is holding on at 159-160 (which is 40 lbs. down from highest weight) and I am still on habit. Best S Days in quite awhile and probably a good thing since now there is the 4th and next day family birthday...won't be doing much though.

You will have to decide, but my thoughts are: DO NOT GO TO THE WW MEETINGS. I think they are all too diet head and weight loss obsessed. Work the NoS plan and gradually let go of WW. In my opinion, again, there are too many "good" and "bad" foods even if you are not counting. Just fill your plates 3 ...

Centrino, late afternoon is my most difficult time too. I know it is especially hard because it puts you in the kitchen preparing food. Thought you might find this study interesting. Seems to verify NO S as we already knew. It is also interesting that the "eating with others" had an opposite effect though. Of course this is just an abstract of the study.

I think you have already answered your question. You are probably not eating enough. No S Lessons over 10 years
There seem to be discussions regularly about motivation and whether to think of NoS as a weight loss plan. Here are my thoughts:
1. Most people will not lose and keep off weight with the only motivation being to lose weight. Health scares will sometimes do it, but not always. I think you have to ...
