You can do interesting things with vegetables that don't involve sauce: Steamed broccoli rocks with slivered almonds on it. Brussels sprouts can be cooked with onion and bacon, or green beans be bundled together with a strip of prosciutto and cooked on a pan. You can put almost any cooked vegetables ...

Laura99, I've always hated that quote. It seemed to discount all the little, cheerful, happy things (not the point, I know, but that's the problem with quotes), and I preferred to turn it round: "Anything that's worth time takes a while" :)

No-S is self regulating. Sure you can have fast food for every meal (no softdrinks), but it won't be long before you don't want to :) I found that the longer I've been on No-S, the more I am aware of what I want and need - some days I really want vegetables. Others I know that it's about time ...

Peanut Butter
For some, peanut butter is an S, so here is a recipe for next weekend
1 cup peanut butter (crunchy is always better)
1 cup sugar (I prefer 3/4 cup)
1 egg
Mix together. Roll into balls. Put on greased tray and flatten slightly with a fork. Bake at about 180C for 12-15 minutes, or until done.

Perhaps you could keep lunch as the largest meal of the day - but I had the same problem initially. We often eat late and would sometimes go for a walk in the evening first, so I kept a bottle of apple juice in the fridge and would have a glass when I got home or before we went for the walk, just to ...

There are a few threads answering similar questions - for me, I'm 25 and have been doing No-S since late June 2005, with no particular exercise, and I've lost about 13 or 14 kilos (26/28 pounds?). That's from 111kg down to about 97kg at the moment, and down from a large-size-20 to a large-size-16 ...

I find it helps not to say "I can't eat xyz". Instead, say "I will eat at 1pm". Or, "I will eat XYZ on Saturday" - for the first month or two I kept a list of things I was going to eat on the weekend :) Now, I've been wanting to try a cherry-ripe sundae at MacDonalds for about two months and still ...

At some point in my life, I was told to put the knife and fork down between every mouthful. I don't do this regularly, but when I notice my eating speeding up I will go back to that discipline. It has the advantage of (a) making you aware of what you're eating and how long it takes (b) letting you ...

Wow, Spiral - that's impressive! I take it you're exercising as well :)
I've been on NoS for 5 months and have lost 20 pounds - that's with little exercise (beyond the incidental, everyday sort of walking to the train station), free-for-all weekends and sometimes having a Maccas quarter-pounder on ...
