Pink, therapy is really helping, but I still believe that establishing healthier habits is the key. You can spend a lot of time navel-gazing and reflecting, but real change comes with action. Re oversized portions, I haven't visited the US yet, but I'm prepared to be shocked
Amy, just checked the statistics to answer your question. Half of adult women in Poland is overweight or obese, and 2/3 of adult men. I'd say that the "overweight" range you see on the street is broad - some people have a few extra kilos, some guys have a beer belly, a few individuals are noticeably overweight, but it's pretty rare to see a truly obese person. Young people and kids are mostly slim. Polish cities encourage cycling, we have an extensive network of public transport (also in smaller towns), and walks are a popular pastime.
Definitely too much cake on Saturday. Sunday was pretty sane, with some peanut butter ice cream as a treat which I shared with J. Still, I seem to prefer seconds and extra meals rather than sweets or snacks these days.
