Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.
To make it short, i'm a german, my english is "bad" in every aspects. But i love everydaysystems and i will make a 21 day check in with some small goals:
1. Lose weight (no surprise i guess )
2. Become stronger (silly or?)
3. Increase my language skill
4. Form the habit to make the changes permanent.
So let’s start.
1) Person
I’m 24 years old and 6ft 3 in height. My starting weight is 253 (115 Kilogramm for us metric people) pounds (Doubel Doh!). The next time i will climb the scale is after the 21 days. The last 8 years i handled my body like crap, so it will be a long way to go back. But i know, that the greatest problem was overeating and stuffing junk in my mouth everytime, so NoS is bulletproof for me.
2) Oh, some points
1. I will use SG and NoS-Diet, so no urbanranger here.
2. I will do other sports 3 times the week (Running, Swimming, Martial Arts)
3. I start with a 11 pound Sledgehammer (5 Kilogramm)
3) Last Point
I will also measure some parts of my body on day one and on day 21.

Again i SG on a S-Day, but it is ok, as long as i stay with it.
Meal 1: Cerals with whole-Milk ( 1 plate)
Meal 2: Pasta with sauce (1 plate)
Meal 3: Cerals with whole Milk (1 plate)
Snacks& Sweets
2x Mars-Chocolate-Bars
14 min SG.
It was again a good S-Day, with only moderate Ses.
This weekend was a doubel-12-hour- nightshift-thing.
And i promise some measures so:
Shoulders: 125 cm (49,2 in)
Arms: 37 cm ( 14 ½ in)
Waist: 106 cm ( 41,7 in)
Hips: 99 cm (38,9 in)
Chest: 110 cm ( 43,3 in)
Calfes: 41 cm (16,1 in)
Thighs: 64 cm ( 25,2 in)
We will see, what changes in 21 Days on EDS.
I expect no miracles, but to log will help in the first weeks to stay motivated and it is only minimum tracking.

3. Meal: Cereals with low-fat milk (1 plate)
14 min SG
50 min Running
Another one bites the dust... only one day left till the next S-Day and to my great surprise i don’t feel any carving for sweets or snacks. Hell even the slight hunger i felt yesterday between the meals is gone. A glas of water was all i needed. It is like the body relearns to differ hunger and thirst.
I can only imagine how often i ‘ve eaten in the past, when i only was thirsty...

That was the first week. No problems so far. It is impressiv. It is fun. It is not a diet or a rigide exercise-system. NoSDiet is more like a chess-game i play against my habits and SG is plain old fun. I sweated much, but it is more like the games in our boyhood. The first time in my life i can imagine to stay on an exercise/”diet”-program for the rest of my life.

First S-Day after 5 Days of N-Days, so i can live with my S’es today. Can’t help, today was such a nice morning, that i had to SG, so this is another good “Failure”.
One single week so far, but it is like im feeling some subtle changes.
1. A small plus on the daily energy-level
2. A somewhat nicer look in the mirror (no wonders, but small steps)
3. A “Argh- Way too sweet”- Taste with the tarf, but i had to eat it (Never decline something your woman of heart made )

1. Meal: McDonald’s Big Bacon and Eggs + 1 Egg McMuffin
2. Meal: Pasta and Onion
3. Meal: Burger King’ Bigg King XXL with Fries & Coke
Sweets and Snacks
5 Cheeseburger
1 Hot Brownie with ice-cream
1 King Sunday
No Exercise Today
Woah. That was a day. It was some kind of an ritual. I eat around 5000+ calories today. But it was in some ways necessary. It was more like the days before i started EDS. I had to say bye bye to some old “friends” (Mc and Burger King). It was like a mental change i had to do. Right now i feel nearly sick, really bloated and in no way good. It was surley the last time in my life i eat so much.
So some things i’ve learned today:
1. Man i can’t believe that i was eating so much on a regular basis!
2. After only one week on NoSdiet the amount of food i can eat without feeling bloated is definitely lower.
3. Let’s talk about money: I spended nearly 20 Euros today for Junk-Food. If i compare this with the money i’ve spended in 5 N-Days i feel the appeal to vomit.
The third point is an interessting fact. Moneywise i don’t know any diet comparable with NoSDiet. All the other diets, eating systems or miracle food come around with high costs, open or hidden. For the majority of them you have to buy a book (small investment, but it counts), join a club or buy some miracle food (so called high quality products). If i stay on NoSDiet i believe i could save nearly 2/3 of my past expenses. After my first 21 days i will take another month and i will calculate my costs.

1. Meal: 1 Piece Cheese-cake (1 plate) uh, don’t ask
2. Meal: Veggie-Stew with potatoes and Meatballs (1plate)
3. Meal: Cereals with low-fat-milk (1 plate)
Exercise:
50 min Running / 4 Miles with a pace of 8,5 min per mile + Warm up and Cooldown
14 min SG
I learned, that my best running times are far away. The next target, or my gold medal in personal olympic , is a pace of 7 min per mile for 2006. Next year will be the year of 6 mins.
For the first time i felt a sore in bodyparts i didn’t train direct (a.k.a. abs). So lets hope it is a good sign.

Last 4 month were my personel hell on earth. Got an "accident" at work (a suspect hit me with his car) and it took me 3 month to walk straight up again.
So there was no NoSDiet and no SG for me since that unlucky day. Now i got lots of rigid fat i want to lose and i start over again. So tomorrow will be day 1 again.
